As you get older both men and women start to lose hair. I now have a few friends that are going through a similar phase and they're looking for options on what to do next.

The first thing I said to one of my friends was to start wearing hair extensions or wigs. But this was a temporary measure and they wanted something which was more long lasting so I suggested different hair oils but these were taking time and they permanently wanted their hair back.

After doing some research one of my friends came up with the idea of having PRP Therapy, which is Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy. I had never heard of this until it was mentioned to me, but basically your blood is drawn and processed, it's then injected back into your scalp.

By having this treatment your hair growth is supposed to improve it's growth for four to six weeks. This treatment needs to take place once a month for three months, and then after that you can have a treatment every six to twelve months depending on how your hair is growing.

Whilst this doesn't completely prevent hair loss, it is an option that many people are taking these days to get their hair growth back. Treatments can cost anywhere from £400 to £1,500 a session, so financially it is something to consider if you want to continue with it long term.

It may not be for everyone and I'm sure like all procedures there may be side effects too, so do be careful and discuss this with your clinic if you do have it done. But this is another option if you're concerned about hair loss.
